The City is Requesting Proposals for Waste Management Collection Services for a Seven (7) Year Term Beginning June 1, 2026. The Services Required Are: Collection of Garbage in Front End Loading Containers, in-ground Waste Systems and/or Carts From Multi Residential Properties and City Facilities; Collection of Organic Material From Multi Residential Properties; Collection of Bulky Items From Multi Residential Properties; The Provision and Supply of Replacement Garbage Carts and Green Bins Due to Contractor Damage; The Movement of Waste Collection Containers to and From the City's Storage Yard and City Facility Locations, as Needed From Time to Time; The Provision of Additional Collections Services for Garbage, Handling Services and Collection of Waste Material for Emergency and Disaster Services and Special Services and Collection Projects, as Required; and Collection of Garbage, Scrap Metal, Leaf and Yard Waste Material and Damaged Green Bins in Roll-off Containers and the Provision and Supply of Roll-off Containers for City Facilities. All Services Are to Be Provided Regardless of Weather Conditions, Within the City of Ottawa and in Accordance With the Conditions and Specifications and as Directed by the City in Accordance With the Requirements Outlined in the Rfp Document, Its Appendices and Any Other Supporting Documents Referenced Herein. The Contractor Will Be Required to Collect and Transport Garbage, Bulky Items, Source Separated Organics (Sso) "Organics", Leaf and Yard Waste (Lyw) and Damaged Green Bins to the Drop Off Locations as Designated by the City in Appendix I. The Contractor Will Not Be Responsible to Pay for Disposal Fees for These Materials Delivered to the City Designated Disposal Sites, Unless the Materials Are Collected as Part of the Additional Collections Service Described in Section 2.7.2 (Annex a).
