Site work for a mixed-use development in Coosada, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; and playground / park / athletic field.
All Contractors bidding this work shall be required to visit the site and examine all existing conditions prior to submitting their proposal. All Bidders shall have general liability and workman's compensation insurance. The project shall be bid excluding taxes. Bids must be submitted on proposal form furnished by the Owner. No bid may be withdrawn after scheduled closing for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. Owner Rights: The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owners judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. Bond Notes: A certified check or Bid Bond payable to the Elmore County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00 must accompany the bidder's proposal IF THE AMOUNT IS $100,000.00 OR MORE. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds are not required unless the bids are $100,000.00 or more. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect. All bidders shall show such evidence by clearly displaying current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. Completion Time: Project to be completed in (30) calendar days. Supervision: Contractor to provide proper supervision of all work. Remove the existing equipment and grade the site for future playground equipment installation. 1. 4. 5. 6. 2. 3. Remove existing equipment according to the attached drawing and legend, (see attached plan) Fill and compact any holes or depressions left by the equipment foundations. Equipment that is marked to be reused is to be stored on school property in a designated lay down area. The equipment that is marked to be demolished and removed is to be hauled off by the contractor. Grade the site according to engineers grading plans. (See attached drawing) Undercutting is not required, any soil that is suitable for fill can be graded into the low spots on site. A compaction ofrate of 90% is required. Provide a unit price to bring in clay for any additional soil that is required to obtain the proper grade. Any spoil can be spread on school property in a designated area. Demolish and haul away any concrete that is marked to be demolished on the plans. The Turf, engineered wood fiber, plastic ramp, plastic border and playground equipment will be installed by a playground equipment vendor as a part of a separate bid.
