Demolition and site work for a civil project in Spring Valley Village, Texas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of August 15, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on August 28, 2024. The deadline to ask questions is 6/13/2024 12:00 AM CST Work of the Contract is for demolition and construction of above ground booster pump piping, replacement of booster pumps and motors, removal of existing control equipment, installation of new control equipment, and various improvements to Control Building #1. Bid security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Bid must accompany each Bid as a guarantee that the Successful Bidder will enter into a proper Contract and execute Bonds and Guaranties on the forms provided within eight (8) calendar days after the date Contract Documents are received by the Contractor. Upon consideration of the Bids, the City Council plans to award a Contract; however, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any or all irregularities, formalities, or technicalities, and to accept any bid that it deems advantageous to the City. Bids shall be valid for a period of ninety (90) days from the date Bids are opened. Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the city, the Engineer, and their respective employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond each in an amount of 100% of the total contract price. s. Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs), minority businesses, women's business enterprises, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit a proposal. Work of the Contract is for demolition and construction of above ground booster pump piping, replacement of booster pumps and motors, removal of existing control equipment, installation of new control equipment, and various architectural and civil improvements to Control Building #1. Provide materials, labor, equipment and superintendence in accordance with these Technical Specifications, Project Drawings, and Contract Documents. Contractor's responsibility includes, but is not limited to, construction sequencing in accordance with the Contract Documents, quality control of workmanship and materials, handling of all material, handling and disposal of all waste, and compliance with regulatory standards governing the work. The work in general, to be performed under this Contract consists of, but is not limited to, the following general tasks, which are more specifically described in the Drawings and other Sections of these Specifications. 1. Base Bid Item for Mobilization consists of Mobilization by the Contractor to initiate project start-up, as specified in Specification Section 01502 - Mobilization. 2. Base Bid item for Pollution Prevention Implementation including Permitting, Proof of Payment, Maintenance, Inspections, and Reporting for Pollution Prevention Measures, as specified in Specification Section 01570 - Storm Water Pollution Prevention Control. 3. Base Bid Item for the Booster Pump Station Improvements include the following: a. Demolition and legal disposal of the existing above ground booster pump piping, and appurtenances, b. Demolition and legal disposal of existing booster pump #4 & #5 pumps and motors, c. Installation of new booster pump piping, valves, pumps, motors, and related ancillary components, d. Blast and coat above ground pipe and appurtenances e. Contractor to coordinate demolition with a City of Spring Valley Village Operator. Plant operation must be maintained throughout the entire construction duration. f. Removal of the existing conduit, supports, motor switches and conductors to each of the booster pump motors. g. Installation of new conduit, supports, motor switches and conductors to each of the booster pump motors. 4. Base Bid Item for Control Building #1 Architectural Improvements includes the following: a. Remove roof vents and repair roof penetrations, b. Remove wall vent and repair wall penetrations, c. Remove and replace wall vent, d. Repair unused or oversized wall penetrations, e. Remove and replace two (2) control building doors, f. Remove and replace AC unit, g. Install new AC unit, h. Paint the interior and exterior walls of the Control Building, i. Paint exterior walls of storage buildings behind Control Building, j. Relocate air compressor. k. Remove, dispose, and install new concrete sidewalk, l. Install inlet and 6" PVC and connect to existing storm inlet. 5. Base Bid Item for Control Building #1 Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Improvements includes the following: a. Removal of the Existing and Complete Replacement of Control Building No 1 Power Distribution Equipment, including but not limited to, a new Utility Service Main Disconnect, a new Automatic Transfer Switch, and a new Distribution Switchboard. b. Removal of the existing MCC and Replacement with a Reduced Voltage Soft Starter for, Well #1, and Variable Speed Drives for the Booster Pumps. c. Two Phases of Temporary Power and Control Provisions are to be included in the Bid. One for Service and Power Distribution Panelboard installation and one for MCC replacement. d. Removal of the existing MCC control section and Replacement with a new Well #1 and Booster Pump Station Control System. The new Control Panel, with a PLC, shall provide Control and share Status with the existing Control Building #1 PLC e. Field Replacement of existing PLC and HMI in the existing Surface Water Connection Panel located in Control Building #1 with proposed PLC and HMI. f. Field replacement of existing HMI in PLC control panel located in Control Building #2 with proposed HMI along with supply and installation of the Industrial PC. g. Addition of proposed instruments in Ground Storage Tanks and Hydrotanks.
