The United States Forest Service has a need for the West Boulder Cabin Foundation Repair project located in Boulder Creek, MT. The work shall consist of excavating material from under the cabin sufficient to install new foundation, installing gravel base material, footings, and mortared stone foundation walls as shown in the plans. Remove and reconstruct front stairs and side patio as shown in the plans. Backfill around the foundation and remove excess material from the site. Contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, tools, etc. necessary to complete the work. Government Proposed Sequence of Work: 1. Contractor excavates a trench around the foundation perimeter. 2. Government (Preservation Team) establishes jack points, removing portions of foundation as necessary. 3. Government (Preservation Team) lifts cabin to level and just clear of existing foundation so that it isn't bearing on foundation. 4. Contractor completes excavation work and creates footing per plans. 5. Contractor assembles new stonework up to log walls, building around emplaced jacks. 6. Government (Preservation Team) removes jacks. 7. Contractor finishes stonework and vents at jack points Work is anticipated to begin in August of 2024.
