The scope of the project includes making drainage improvements, road surface preparation and roadway construction with base material and #2A coarse aggregate. Construct rock lined drainage ditches, install . corrugated plastic pipes with precast concrete headwalls, grade road sub-base and construct new road with a base stone layer and surface stone layer along an existing 0-73-mile long road on state game lands. This project involves the maintenance of 3,860-feet (0.73-miles) long section of Bird's Eye Road on State Game Lands (SGL) #198. The project includes grading, pipe installation, drainage ditch construction, parking area surfacing, road base construction, stone surfacing and related work. This work is implementing the erosion and sedimentation control measures during project construction. Compliance with Chapter 102 ofthe Department of Environmental Protection's regulations is also required. This work is minor trimming of overhanging limbs and branches along the road alignment. This work is removing and disposing ofthe existing drainage pipes under the road. This work is furnishing and installing drainage pipes under the roadway. Refer to project layout in Section 11.2 ofthe Technical Specifications for the pipe locations. This work is constructing a foundation bed and backfilling the drainage pipes as shown on the Drawings. This work is installing precast concrete headwalls for the drainage pipes as shown on the Drawings. This work is installing riprap splash pads at the outlets ofsome new drainage pipes. New drainage pipes that empty into stone lined drainage ditches do not have riprap splash pads. This work is installing stone in excavated ditches adjacent to the road. This work is preparing the road surface for construction ofthe new road. Road surface preparation is working the existing stone surface in the section ofthe road from Sta. 0+00 to Sta. 2+57. The second section from Sta. 2+57 to Sta. 38+60 is to be prepared by removing vegetation and organics, scarifying, grading and compacting. This work is constructing the new road surface on the existing alignment with a base layer of 4-inch Minus Stone and a surface course of #2A coarse aggregate as shown on the Drawings. This work is securing a satisfactory stand of grass at all disturbed areas along the roadway including the drainage turnouts and includes preparation ofthe seed bed, furnishing and placing fertilizer, furnishing and sowing ofseed, mulching, and maintaining and tending the seeded areas.
