This project will commence in a series of two phases spanning two fiscal years (FY) 24/25 - 25/26. Phase 1 (FY 24/25) will be made up of treatment units (TU) 1 - 4, total area to be treated is approximately 14.7 hectares, Phase 2 (FY 25/26) will be made up of treatment units 5-6, and 8-12, total area to be treated is approximately 13.4 hectares. The contract is set to start September 1, 2024 to complete prescribed conditions according to the approved Chilliwack Post Creek Fuels Management Prescription for TU 1-4, 5-6 and 8-12. The services required for this project include, but are not limited to, overstorey and understorey thinning, removal of merchantable timber, pruning of reserve trees, surface fuel clean-up, and pile and burning of residual material. The total approximate treatment area for Phase 1 is 14.7 hectares and all work including the decking of merchantable timber and completion of pile burning must be completed by March 15, 2025. The total approximate treatment area for Phase 2 is 13.4 hectares and all work including the decking of merchantable timber and completion of pile burning must be completed by March 15, 2026.
