The project consists of the following items for the security improvements: Security Fencing: Locate perimeter fencing to ensure some degree of safety from exterior intrusions. Vehicle entry control: A new motorized gate will be provided at the rear of the site near Freedom. Site Lighting: The project will include additional site lighting along the existing asphalt drive leading to Freedom Drive for security purposes. Installation of fencing with personnel and access gates as specified. Miscellaneous signage as shown on the drawings. Bidding Documents include this Invitation to Bid, and the following attached forms: Form of Proposal, sample contract, Sales Tax Report, School Access Requirements, MBE forms, Board of Education Policies. The bidding documents also include the plans and specifications, and any Addenda issued prior to receipt of bids. All requirements and obligations of the Bidding Documents are hereby incorporated by reference into the Contract Documents and are binding on the Successful Bidder upon award of the contract. Each Bidder by submitting his Bid represents that he has read and understands that Bidding Documents and his Bid is made in accordance therewith; and Bidder agrees to be bound by the terms and requirements set forth in the Bidding and Contract Documents; that he has visited the site, has familiarized himself with the local conditions under which the Work is to be performed herein, and has correlated his observations with the requirements of the proposed Contract Documents. The Wake County Public School System reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the School System. Also, the Wake County Public School System reserves the right to require any bidder to submit information needed to determine if said bidder is responsible within the meaning of N.C. Gen. Stat. 143-129. The Schedule for the project shall be as follows: June 13, 2024 Notice of intent to Award Once WCPSS has issued the contract, the Contractor has 14 calendar days to return the signed contract with supporting documents to WCPSS. August 22, 2024 Notice to Proceed August 28, 2024 Contractor to Begin work December 27, 2024 Substantial Completion January 27, 2025 Final Completion December 16, 2025 Eleven Month Warranty Inspection Please note: The pre-bid is not mandatory but highly recommended. All potential bidders including all subcontractors and other personnel wishing to attend the pre-bid conference must check-in at the school's main office prior to the pre-bid conference. After checking in, please meet outside the main entrance to the school. Please plan accordingly. We request all potential including their subcontractor do not access or walk around the campus without being escorted by WCPSS personnel or the Owner's representative for safety concerns.
