The general work requested is: CONSTRUCTION OF 7" CONCRETE ALLEY PAVEMENT, VARIABLE THICKNESS ASPHALTIC CONCRETE PAVEMENT, 7" CONCRETE DRIVEWAY, CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER, VARIABLE THICKNESS CONCRETE WALK AND/OR CONCRETE DRIVEWAYS, VARIABLE THICKNESS CRUSHED STONE BASE, PERMEABLE PAVERS, SEALING PAVEMENT JOINTS AND CRACKS, STONE BEDDING, SLURRY BACKFILL, CONCRETE AND OTHER REMOVALS, SEWER WORK, ETC.; Located at the following Alleys Bounded By (ABB): ST211222011 - ABB: W. Burnham St., W. Rogers St., S.19th St., and S. 20th St. ST212200101 - ABB: W. Eden Pl., W. Morgan Ave., S. 9th St., and S. 11th St. ST212220101 - ABB: W. Eden Pl., W. Morgan Ave., S. 61st St., and S. 63rd St. ST212180105 - ABB: W. Rohr Ave., N. Sherman Blvd., W. Villard Ave. and N. 44th St. Time for Completion: All work on this contract shall be completed by November 15, 2024. No work in the public right-of-way will be permitted to occur during the Republican National Convention (RNC) from July 14, 2024 through July 20, 2024. All excavations must be temporarily restored or covered with a steel plate to allow through traffic or ADA compliant pedestrian access (Permits could be denied based on coordination with the Secret Service prior to July 14, 2024). Liquidated Damages, per diem: $1000.00/Day The residency requirement for this project is 40% of all hours worked on the project. One quarter of these hours must be attributable to residents living in the following zip codes: 53204, 53205, 53206, 53208, 53210, 53215, and 53233. The SBE requirement for this project is 25% of the contract base bid. The SBE Compliance Plan (Form A) must be submitted with the bid and is an element of bid responsiveness. SBE certificates must be submitted with the Form A. Incomplete SBE Compliance Plans (Form A) or inaccurate SBE Compliance Plans will not be accepted and will render the bid unresponsive. The apprenticeship requirements for this project are: N/A If this contract is awarded at $500,000 or higher, 25% of all apprentice labor hours must be worked by apprentices certified for participation in the Residents Preference Program and 40% of all apprentice labor hours must be attributed to apprentices living in the following zip codes: 53204, 53205, 53206, 53208, 53210, 53215, and 53233 The contractor shall specifically note the SBE, residency, and apprenticeship forms for this project. If the forms are not filled out properly, it will be cause for rejection of the bid. Bid Security Required: Bond, Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Cash to accompany bid: 10% of the Contractor's Base Bid. All Contractors awarded a contract valued at $25,000.00 or more are required to participate in training on the City of Milwaukee's B2GNow contract compliance software within 30 days of the contract award date.
