The intent of the Plans and Specifications is to describe the details for the construction and completion of the Work that the Contractor undertakes to perform in accordance with the terms of the Contract. Where the Plans or Specifications describe portions of the Work in general terms but not in complete detail, it is understood that only the best general practice is to prevail and that only materials and workmanship of the first quality are to be used. Unless otherwise specifically stated, the Contractor shall furnish all tools, equipment and incidentals and perform all Work that is to be performed in the best workmanlike manner to assure that the completed Work will be in accordance with the Plans and Specifications. The Contractor is responsible for verifying all measurements and existing conditions related to his scope of Work before the start of any Work. If materials and/or equipment are to be furnished by the City, as designated in the Special Provisions or as agreed on, this shall not relieve the Contractor of the above requirements to furnish all other labor, materials and equipment to complete the Contract.
