It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy. Each Proposal must be accompanied by the required amount of the bid security, which is 5% of the Total Bid, in the form of a bank draft or certified check, payable at sight to the University and drawn on a bank authorized to do business in the United States, or by a Bid Bond, on a form approved by the University, duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company or companies, approved by the University, authorized to do business in the State of New York as a surety. SCOPE OF WORK PROVIDE AND INSTALL LIGHTING AND SWITCHING As part of this work, contractor will be responsible for the purchase of lights, labor, and materials of necessary components to provide lighting & switches to all indicated rooms in Woodlands 1 & 5. Note: Basis-of-Design Product: Where Specifications refer to a product indicated in specifications and include a manufacturer name, provide the specified product or a comparable product by a comparable manufacturer. Specifications indicate sizes, profiles, dimensions, and other characteristics that are based on the product named. Contractor must comply with all specifications and requirements. If awarded submittal of drawing and specifications are required to be approved by SUNY Old Westbury prior to order and start of installation of lights. As part of this work, contractor will be responsible for the purchase of lights, labor, and materials of necessary components to provide lighting & switches to all indicated rooms in Woodlands 1 & 5. Additionally, all materials are to be readily available, quick-ship lighting fixtures are recommended to meet short schedule. Work Not Included: Work not included in the work of the Contract are preparation of site utilities, including sewer, foundations for modular unit(s).
