Renovation of a fire / police facility in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
Description. The Land Conservation service area of the Sauk County Land Resources and Environment Department (Department) is interested in restoring the historic Firehouse located at the Sauk County Farm. Restoration will include exterior repairs as noted within the RFB. The County would also like to have the option to add-on interior repairs, replacement of the main building doors, and refurbishment of two accessory doors. All Bidders must complete, sign, and return Part 3 of this RFB with their Bid. Specifications. Exterior Building Labor and materials to repair exterior brick on the front entry, to include: Cut out the existing brick and install new brick; and a stone header to create a door opening that is to the original design. Grind joints and loose deteriorated brick on the remainder of the building and replace with new brick. Grind and tuck additional joints on exterior where needed. This should be based on a visual inspection. Scrape and paint the window frames. Install a new piece of glass in the upper front window. Paint and seal soffit and fascia to match the building. Add-On Option #1 - Doors Labor and materials for building door replacement and refurbishment, to include: Build new main carriage doors and paint to match the building. Fill and sand the sills that have damage. Sand and repaint the two (2) service doors on the front of the building. Add-On Option #2 - Interior Building Labor and materials for interior building repairs, to include: The right side of the room: Labor to remove lathe plaster from the ceiling. Drywall the ceiling (mud and fire tape). Go over the parting wall with 1/2 drywall (mud and fire tape). The left side of the room: Labor to patch ceiling with furring strips and drywall (mud and tape). Cover the parting wall with drywall (mud and firetape). Scrape loose the concrete coating from the lower exterior walls and the walls in the closet area. Apply foundation coating cement to scraped areas. Rewiring of Electrical throughout the building and installation/replacement of switches and light fixtures. Location. The Firehouse building is located on the Sauk County Farm property at S4555 County Rd CH, Reedsburg, WI 53959. Questions must be received in writing via email to the contact information Lisa Wilson, Director at lisa.wilson@saukcountywi.gov. Requests for changes must include the reason for the change and any proposed changes to the requirements. The purpose of this requirement is to allow Sauk County the opportunity to provide clarifications or adjust RFB terms or technical requirements prior to the opening of Proposals. The County will consider all requested changes and, if appropriate, amend the RFB. The County will provide reasonable notice of its decision to all Bidders that have provided an address (email or U.S. postal service) to the Sauk County Land Resources and Environment Department for this procurement. No oral or written instructions or information concerning this RFB from County managers, employees or agents to prospective Bidders must bind County unless included in an Addendum to the RFB. If any part of this RFB is changed, an addendum will be provided to Bidders that have provided an address, email, or U.S. Postal Service, to the Sauk County Land Resources and Environment Department for this procurement. It must be the Bidder's responsibility to regularly check online. The County reserves the right to reject any and all Bids not in compliance with all prescribed public RFB procedures and requirements and may reject for good cause any and all Bidders upon finding that it is in the public interest to do so and to waive any and all informalities in the public interest. In the award of the contract, the County will consider the element of time, will accept the Bid or Bids which in their estimation will best serve the interests of the County and will reserve the right to award the contract with the Bidder whose Bid must be best for the public good. The County encourages Bids from minority, women, and small business enterprises. July Bid awarded November 1, 2024 Project completion Right to Reject Bids. The County reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or to withdraw any item from the award, if such rejection or withdrawal would be in the public interest, as determined by the County. Sauk County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, to waive any technicality in any Bid submitted, and to accept any part of a Bid as deemed to be in the best interests of Sauk County. Submission of a Bid constitutes the making of an offer to contract and gives the County an option valid for ninety (90) days after the date of submission to the County. The County reserves the right to perform background and reference checks on Bidders providing goods and/or services to the County. Bids MUST be date and time stamped by Sauk County on or before the date and time that the Bid is due. Bids dated and time stamped after the deadline will be rejected. Actual receipt by the County is necessary. There Will Be No Exceptions to This Policy..
