The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking a qualified Responder(s) that demonstrate(s) the capabilities, experience, and resources to provide trash removal, hazardous and bio-hazardous waste material pickup, and disposal. The DOT is seeking information from Responders on the safest, and most efficient solution for removal and disposal of trash, hazardous and bio-hazardous waste materials at, but not limited to, DOT roads along shoulders, lanes and Right-of-Way in rural and urban locations and Truck Parking Areas. Responders are to open each Tab of this proposal in Ion Wave from left to right when submitting responses to ensure all requirements are seen. Response can be multiple labeled document attachments or a single master document (preferred) as long as the document is electronically searchable and material is clearly labeled in a table of contents. Until a contract is awarded the sole point of contact for the solicitation is the Purchasing Agent identified in the solicitation. All questions must be directed solely to the purchasing agent listed in the bid opportunity. We encourage vendor to upload all questions on or before the question cut off due date and time in ION wave. Responses to questions will be communicated out to vendors via site. A committee is established for the purpose of reviewing and evaluating proposed responses based on a set of criteria outlined in this RFP. Evaluation criteria will define categories with assigned weighted values to be used as a scoring measure to determine the best overall solution for the Department based on technical expertise and price, including, but not limited to the criteria outlined in this RFP (See attribute #14). The award shall be offered to a firm whose properly submitted compliant response best meets the requirements of the solicitation and receives the highest overall score of the weighted criteria. The DOT reserves the right to award multiple contracts from this RFP.
The Contractor will be awarded a one (1) year contract with an option to renew for five (5) additional years in twelve (12) month increments.
