Project Description: The Government is soliciting to award a task order to demolish existing restrooms, locker rooms, and shower rooms, and construct new office spaces, storage room, restrooms, locker rooms, and shower rooms that meet Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) accessibility standards and requirements. Work in this task order involves demolition of existing restrooms, locker rooms, and shower rooms (Rooms 1049, 1081-1084, 1086-1089, 1099-1102, and 1103-1106), and construction of new office spaces, storage room, and restrooms, locker rooms, and shower rooms that meet Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) accessibility standards and requirements. This project also includes mechanical, electrical, and fire protection work to support the new configuration of rooms. · Architectural · Structural · Fire Protection · Mechanical · Plumbing · Electrical Special Design and Construction Challenges · Limited as-built CAD files exist for Building 1770. The Contractor shall do their own site investigation and verification. · Refer to Part 6 Attachments for available record drawings, which are provided for reference only. The Contractor shall verify all existing conditions and do their own site investigation to create new CAD files for the project. · Building 1770 will be occupied and remain operational for the duration of this project. The Contractor shall be mindful of construction noise, dust and debris. · The Shipyard shuts down between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Although Building 1770 will be open for the Contractor to continue working, the Contractor’s schedule must take into consideration the reduction of support from Shipyard personnel during this time. · RIMPAC exercises are conducted every even numbered years.
