Reference Number 0000354536 Job Location: Boulder, CO The Chemistry Department's teaching mission exceeds 36,000 student credit hours per AY, putting them in the top five producers on campus in this regard. Non-majors represent 82% of these SCHs, serving students from some 18 different departments across multiple colleges indicating the high service contribution of the department. The General Chemistry Teaching Labs are housed in approximately 13,800 ASF of space on the 1st and 2nd floors in the Ekeley building. The labs have been heavily utilized for decades and their age is evident by the condition of the space, and the obsolescence to 21st century pedagogy. In addition to hosting instructional labs for the Chemistry program, the Ekeley Sciences building is an active research facility for researchers in Chemistry and the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Environmental Sciences (CIRES). As a part of this project, the General Chemistry labs will be temporarily relocated to Cristol Chemistry during the renovation of Ekeley Sciences. Anticipated minor alterations will need to be completed prior to the start of renovation activities within Ekeley Sciences UCB is seeking a General Abatement Contractor for the Ekeley Teaching Labs project.
