Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Newton, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

Downtown Revitalization Improvements as Described Below: Base Bid: New Sidewalk, Demolition and reconstruction of sidewalks, Pedestrian Foot Bridge with foundations, Pedestrian Boardwalk, ADA ramps / routes and related improvements along U.S. Highway 190 from S.H. 87 then east approximately 1,550 LF to existing sidewalk. Additive Alternative Bid No. 1: New Sidewalk, Demolition and reconstruction of sidewalks, ADA ramps / routes and related improvements along State Highway Loop 505 (Kaufman Street) from U.S. 190 then south along the west margin of Loop 505 approximately 306 LF to existing cross walk. Additive Alternative Bid No. 2: New Sidewalk, Demolition and reconstruction of sidewalks, ADA ramps / routes and related improvements along Main Street from an existing cross walk near Loop 505 then east along the south margin of Main Street approximately 326 LF to existing cross walk at the intersection with U.S. Highway 190. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid [for those contracts that exceed $100,000]. A certified check or bank draft payable to City of Newton or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. Section 3 Residents, Minority Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit bids. City of Newton reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Performance. Work, in accordance with the Contract dated , shall commence on or before see Notice to Proceed , and Contractor shall complete the WORK within _One Hundred Twenty (120)_ consecutive calendar days thereafter. The date of completion of all WORK is therefore see Notice to Proceed . Bids may be held by City of Newton for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. All contractors/subcontractors who's System for Award Management registration is not active or that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.
