Remodeling of an educational facility in Champaign, Illinois. Completed plans call for the remodel of a educational facility.

Project includes remodeling of approximately 1,500 square feet of space in the existing P-wing. Work involves demolition of existing offices and a portion of the Lobby space, metal stud and drywall partitions, acoustical tile ceilings, hollow metal frames, wood doors, aluminum doors and windows. MEP work includes all new HVAC system, new lighting, power, data and some plumbing work. Construction Contract: The project will be constructed under a single General Work contact. Prevailing Wages: The Contractor shall pay or cause to be paid not less than the prevailing rates of wages as found by the Owner or the Illinois Department of Labor or as determined by the Court on Review to all laborers, workmen and mechanics engaged in the Work. The Contractor shall be responsible for notifying all Subcontractors of this requirement, the prevailing rates, and any revisions thereto. Pursuant to Public Act 86-799, current prevailing rates of wages are included in the Contract Documents. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informalities and irregularities in the bidding and to accept the bids deemed most favorable to their interest, after all bids have been examined and evaluated. A bid bond, bank draft, or certified check made payable to the Board of Trustees Community College District No. 505 - Parkland College in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid proposal shall accompany each bid as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will furnish satisfactory Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum, execute the Contract and proceed with the Work. Upon failure to do so, he shall forfeit the deposit or amount of bid bond as liquidated damages, and no mistakes or errors on the part of the Bidder will excuse the Bidder or entitle him to a return of the deposit or bid bond. No Bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 45 days after the date of opening thereof. The bid bonds or checks will, with the exception of those of the three lowest bidders, be returned seven days after the opening of bids and the remaining checks or bid bonds will be returned when the Contract is executed and bond provided. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. The successful bidders will be required to furnish a Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in form and Surety as specified and in the full amount of the contracts. Cost of such bonds shall be included in the Bidder's Proposal.
