New construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Arcadia, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and for the construction of a educational facility.

As of October 3, 2024, this project is in the conceptual phase. Contract negotiations are in process for with a prospective developer firm. It is anticipated a developer will be awarded in November 2024. The prospective developer has a prospective team which consist of an architect and construction manager. It is anticipated construction will start in January 2025. Public/Private Partnership *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: DeSoto County School Board (School Board), received an unsolicited proposal, P3, as outlined in Section 255.065, Florida Statutes. The purpose of this competitive selection process is to select a professional services provider to furnish all necessary labor and material and to perform all work necessary and incidental to construct the new DeSoto County Public Schools High School and Remodel and Renovation of Continuum Campus Facilities Proposals submitted to the School Board in response to this public notification will be considered and a decision on the selection/ranking of the unsolicited proposal and the qualified proposals will be made by a Selection Committee designated by the Superintendent. All proposals must be clearly marked High School Build & Remodel and Renovation of Continuum Campus Facilities. The District will not be responsible in event the U.S. Postal Service or any other courier system fails to deliver any package by the above referenced deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted. This posting will explain the RFP process, including the proposal requirements, timelines, submittal process, evaluation process, and Design Criteria.
