https://www.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/news/2024/07/15/sfbt-digest-monday-point-molate-alphabet-halo-sf.html The Richmond City Council voted on Friday in favor of a $40 million sale of Point Molate to the East Bay Regional Park District in a deal negotiated between the city, parks district and the Guidiville Tribe, which owns the property, the East Bay Times reports. The parks district is now poised to take ownership of the more than 80 acres of Point Molate, a former U.S. Navy fuel storage and transfer site located on the San Pablo Peninsula not far from the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. The site was previously the subject of large-scale development proposals which never came to fruition. The park district’s board of directors plan to vote on the deal on Tuesday and the California Coastal Coastal Conservancy is then expected to vote in September, with escrow expected to close in November or early December. A $36 million state grant will be used to purchase the land ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The project site contains possible risks to the health and safety of construction and inspection workers as well as the general public during project-related construction activities, which are summarized in the project's Health and Safety Summary (HSS) contained in Appendix B. This may include specific soil and air quality risks that are described in the project's Soil Management and Air Monitoring Plan (SMAMP) contained in Appendix C as well as the over-arching requirements of the approved Former Point Molate Fuel Supply Depot Soil and Groundwater Management Plan (SGWMP). It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to follow all notifications requirements and minimize potential risks to the health and safety of all related construction and inspection staff as well as the general public who may be involved in the project construction. The Contractor shall prepare a Construction Health and Safety Plan (H&SP), which incorporates necessary mitigation measures and safety provisions in conformance with the information contained in the HSS and SMAMP. During construction, the Contractor shall ensure their H&SP adequately minimizes potential health and safety risks and makes amendments to the document throughout the life of the project as needed.
