Rehabilitation of an existing historic gymnasium building, originally constructed in the mid -1920's. Scope consists of repairs to the exterior envelope. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Price, as further specified in the Contract Documents. The Bid Proposal must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier;s or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. The bid security must guarantee that within ten days after City issues the Notice of Award, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, insurance certificates and endorsements, and any other submittals required by the Contract Documents and as specified in the Notice of Award This Project requires a valid California contractor's license for the following classification(s): Class B The project is located at 102 East Carrillo Street in Santa Barbara, and is described as follows: Manage the construction of the following permitted plans and specifications which is identified per the following: Carrillo Gym (BLD2021-02225): Rehabilitation of an existing historic gymnasium building, originally constructed in the mid -1920's. Scope consists of repairs to the exterior envelope. All areas of construction will include temporary safety barricades and dust containment barriers as required to isolate and secure work areas from the public during construction. Liquidated Damages:$1,200.00 Per Day Question Deadline 07/02/2024 at 3:00 PM PT Online Q and A: Yes Time for Final Completion. The Work must be fully completed within 365 calendar days from the start date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. The anticipated start date of August 2024 is provided solely for convenience and is neither certain nor binding. The percentage of retention that will be withheld from progress payments is 5%. City reserves the right to postpone the date or time for receiving or opening bids. Each bidder is solely responsible for all of its costs to prepare and submit its bid and by submitting a bid waives any right to recover those costs from City. The bid price(s) must include all costs to perform the Work as specified, including all labor, material, supplies, and equipment and all other direct or indirect costs such as applicable taxes, insurance and overhead.
