Renovation of a detention facility in Safford, Arizona. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

1. FLAT ROOF SECTION: The contractor shall be responsible for the removal and haul away of the existing flat rolled roofing, roof decking, fascia, shingle mold, drip edge, and rain gutters on the flat section located on the back of the staff housing complex. A new conventional framed sloped roof will need to be constructed to have a slope equal to or greater than 3:12 pitch to meet shingle manufactures specifications. The existing rafters will not be removed but the new rafters attached to the existing with any alterations that may be required. The rafters will need to be long enough to make the new soffit 16 inches past the exterior wall. This new section of constructed roof will be required to have 1/2 plywood decking or OSB with plywood clips and required fasteners. The contractor will be required to install new synthetic underlayment, sub fascia (traditional lumber), fascia (5/4" LP Smartside engineered wood trim), soffit (LP Smartside plywood panels), shingle mold (1x2 pine), metal drip edge (2"x2"), 30yr Owens Corning asphalt architectural shingles (sierra gray in color), roof jacks, flashings, and rain gutters. 2. PITCHED TRUSS SECTION: The Contractor shall be responsible for the removal and haul away of the existing asphalt shingles, felt(underlayment), shingle mold, metal drip edge, rain gutters, flashings, soffit, fascia, and roof jacks on the entire trussed staff housing complex. A row of sheeting will need to be removed to extend truss tails or install outriggers to make the new soffit overhang 16 inches past the exterior wall. Once that has been removed the contractor will be required to install new synthetic underlayment, sub fascia (traditional lumber), fascia (5/4" LP Smartside engineered wood trim), soffit (LP Smartside plywood panels), shingle mold (1x2 pine), metal drip edge (2"x2"), 30yr Owens Corning asphalt architectural shingles (sierra gray in color), roof jacks, flashings, and rain gutters. 3. Housing will be occupied during construction. All construction activities must be conducted so that housing areas are protected from weather, and that staff living there are minimally impacted by construction. 4. The contractor shall be responsible for caulking, filling holes, priming, and painting all fascia, soffit, and drip edge on the staff housing complex. 5. Required sealant around all penetrations before roof is complete. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
