Renovation of a military facility in Bremerton, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.

Scope. Removal and disposal of existing carpet and/or tiles and the installation of new carpet. Services include: The contractor shall remove all existing carpet and/or tiles, and properly dispose of it off site daily. The contractor shall remove all underlying tiles, and ensure concrete floor surfaces are smooth and level to the eye to provide a proper surface for installation of new carpet. The contractor shall fill all cracks, holes, and crevices with material compatible to the floor. The contractor will ensure the floor surface is clear of debris prior to installation of new flooring. Prior to cutting or laying carpet/flooring, the contractor shall determine seam layout and verify the amount of goods on hand is adequate to complete the installation. In the design, the contractor shall install the carpet so the pile inclination is in the manufacturer recommended direction and cut carpet material to minimize waste. The contractor will provide the carpet tile/flooring, glue for carpet, new cove base, and glue for the cove base. The contractor will cut/install carpet/flooring leaving all ventilation, electrical/telephone and floor access points accessible, including monuments, ventilation, floor access with carpet centers, floor access solid and various piping/conduits/ladders. Existing flooring may cover some access points. New carpet installation shall leave all access points and monuments exposed. Carpet shall neatly fit around breaks, creases, door casings, baseboards, and permanent cabinets. The contractor shall also fit under saddles and thresholds. The contractor shall install new rubber cove base with every flooring installation. Note: This requirement covers interior walls, exterior walls and support pillars. The contractor shall provide and install rubber edge strip at all transitions from carpeted to non carpeted areas. The contractor shall ensure clearance between the bottom edges of doors and the level floor surface of newly installed carpet. All doors shall open freely or close without dragging the newly installed carpet.
