Work under Contract 2024-01 covers the furnishing of all labor, material, plant, utilities, and services required for the demolition of the structures located on Parcels #492-L-380 and #492-F-181 along Whittengale Road, and the subsequent removal of all materials and debris from the property on which the structures were located. The demolition project is located in Oakdale Borough, Allegheny County. In general, the total demolition will consist of, but shall not be limited to, the following: 1. Obtaining all required permits for demolition. 2. Termination of all utilities (gas, water, electric, telephone, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, etc.). 3. All erosion and sedimentation control devices. 4. Asbestos abatement as required by Allegheny County or another controlling agency. See Appendix "A" for property Asbestos Survey. 5. Distribution of notices to residents/ organizations and installation of lawn signs per Allegheny County requirements. 6. Demolition of buildings and structures. 7. Demolition of walks and steps, except sidewalks along the streets. 8. Backfilling and subsequent compacting of all subsurface areas and surface depressions (basements, wells, cisterns, cesspools, etc.). 9. Removal of all materials of any kind from the project, including all debris and rubbish, as it accumulates and not stored on the site(s). 10. Furnish, erect, and maintain barricades, lights, flashing warning lights, and warning "KEEP OUT" signs. 11. Dust prevention and control. 12. Site cleanup and treatment of disturbed areas. A certified check payable to OAKDALE BOROUGH or a bid bond on the bid form executed by the Bidder and a surety company approved by the OWNER, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of bid, must be submitted with each bid or bids will be considered nonresponsive and immediately rejected. SUCCESSFUL BIDDING BIDDER awarded this contract shall provide a performance surety in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount. No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the time of the opening of the bids. Oakdale Borough council reserves the right to award or to reject any and/or all portions thereof proposals submitted, and to waive informalities in the bidding process if in the best interest of the authority.
