Demolition and site work for a residential development in Rock Island, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The City of Rock Island is hereby requesting proposals from qualified contractors to submit pricing for the demolition of the building located at 1223 5th Avenue. Scope of Work: Demolition, material segregation, site grading and seeding. . 1. Pre-Demolition Attend a mandatory walk-through Ensure that all the NESHAP standards and regulations for asbestos removal are followed. See the attached asbestos report. Disconnect electric and gas service Request final water meter reading and meter removal. Disconnect and terminate all water and sewer services at City main. All street patching and work done in ROW is the responsibility of the awarded contractor. 2. Demolition : Demolish the entire building and remove the foundation walls, and footings. The City shall retain exclusive rights to the salvage and any of the materials deemed salvageable from the demolition of the property, including but not limited to lumber and bricks The selected demolition contractor will be responsible for preserving and segregating materials deemed salvageable. The City shall have sole discretion to sell, transfer, or dispose of the salvaged material. 3. Site Preparation: Remove all slab-on-grade paving and dispose of it properly. Existing approaches are to remain. Clear the area of any trees and debris, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and guidelines. 4. Excavation and Compaction: Compact the soil sufficiently in lifts to prevent future subsidence. Ensure compaction is uniform and even throughout the entire excavation area. 5. Site Grading and Topsoil: Grade the site to match the surrounding topography, ensuring a smooth transition between the demolition area and the rest of the site. Import and spread topsoil across the entire excavation area. Topsoil must be evenly distributed and leveled. Seed the entire site with suitable turf grass In order to prove that all services are fulfilled, bidders must submit a comprehensive scope of work AWARDING CONTRACTS :The City, at its sole discretion, shall decide after a review of bids which bidder, if any, is responsive to the RFP. All bidding and award procedures undertaken by the City regarding this project shall be consistent with the City's adopted procurement procedures. Submitted bids shall remain valid for 60 days after bid opening. BIDDER RESPONSIBILITY: Bidders shall keep the bidding process confidential. Each bidder shall be fully acquainted with conditions relating to the scope of work, any current government regulations pertaining to the work, and restrictions associated with the acceptable execution of the requested work. Failure or omission of the bidder to acquaint themselves with conditions shall in no way relieve them of any obligation with respect to their bid or subsequent contract FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL REPORTING COMPLIANCE: The bidder shall provide financial and programmatic information as required by the City of Rock Island to comply with all Federal, State, and local law reporting requirements.
