Site work and new construction of a military facility in Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Completed plans call for the construction of a military facility.
Work under this project may consist of, but not limited to, Architectural, Civil, Electrical, Structural. Project Location: USAF- Hill AFB, Utah The 309th Maintenance Support Group needs additional storage to support their mission. This project is to construct a new facility to support this requirement. The new building will be for storage only (no interior storage of fueled vehicles, explosives, or combustibles) and will be located on the north side of the existing parking lot of the 1600 Compound (refer to attached 100% Design drawing package). CLIN 0001 Main structure and site development: A 60 x 60 building based on a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) package that makes the best economic use of the structural system while also optimizing the floor area ratio (width to length). The basis of design was a PEMB product provided by Braemer Building Systems. The 100% Design drawing package made assumptions about the building reactions that will have to be updated/revised based on the final PEMP system selected by the Contractor (refer to cover page of Structural section of the Design Analysis). The structure will have two overhead coiling doors and three personnel doors. All doors will be lockable with lever handles and ASSA cores. All colors & materials shall comply with the Base Architectural Compatibility Plan. The design locates the structure to avoid impacts to all known utilities. An asphalt drive will connect the existing asphalt parking area to the concrete apron at the south side of the new storage building. There is also a concrete apron at the overhead coiling door on the north side and concrete landings at each of the personnel doors. The building shall be surrounded by stabilized aggregate sub-base course pavement parking/drive area as shown on CG100 (refer also to detail 1 on CP501). If Add Alt. #2 is included, this would be asphalt paving per detail 2 on CP501. A swale surrounds the parking/drive area to retain stormwater. All disturbed slopes shall be stabilized per base & state SWPPP policies. A tree must be removed for this project and, per the Base Tree Mitigation Policy, shall be replaced with three (3) 2-inch caliper trees planted on Base in locations determined by the Base Natural Resources Office (refer to CD100). This building will not include a fire suppression system and shall not be heated nor cooled (refer to Memo from AFCEC Fire Marshal in the Design Analysis omitting this requirement). Also not required is a lightning protection system, an access control system, nor an intrusion detection system (not part of the contract). Shelving shown inside of the building is for reference only and is not part of the contract (Government Furnished/Government Installed). The work included in CLIN 0001 shall include all other elements and meet all criteria as described in the Construction Documents (drawings, specifications, & design analysis) that are not part of the scope of the Add Alternates. CLIN 0002 ADD ALTERNATE #1 - Building Insulation: The building shell shall be insulated to meet the thermal resistance (R-Value) criteria shown on A-301 & 302. CLIN 0003 ADD ALTERNATE #2 - Asphalt paving: The parking/drive area surrounding the building shall be asphalt paving (per detail 2 on CP501) where stabilized aggregate base course pavement area is shown on CG100. CLIN 0004 ADD ALTERNATE #3 - Canopies: 24 long (measured from the edge of the main structure to edge of canopy) metal building canopies shall be provided on east & west sides for vehicle parking as noted on A-104, 201, 201, 301 & 302. If inluded, these canopies shall be integrated into the structure of the main building (e.g., shared columns, continuous roof, etc.).
