Site work and paving for a road / highway in Sonoma, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

In general, the work consists of street surface treatment (slurry seal) for various streets throughout the City, including surface preparation, crack seal, slurry seal, removal and replacement of pavement striping and markings, protection of existing utility structures, curb and gutter, cross gutter, traffic control, water pollution control and other related work as set forth on the project Figures, Plans and Specifications. The Engineer's Estimate for this project is $295,000. THIRTY (30) WORKING DAYS will be allowed for completion of all work under the contract. Questions will be accepted via e-mail only to: Matt Wargula, City Engineer, at matt.wargula@ghd.com. Technical questions will not be accepted after 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July, 2 2024. Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1771, not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for work of a similar character in the county in which this project is performed, and not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for holiday and overtime work fixed as provided under the Cal. Labor Code, shall be paid to all workers employed on this project. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates in the county, or counties, in which the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available at the City of Sonoma located in the City Hall, No. 1 The Plaza, Sonoma, California and available from the California Department of Industrial Relations' Internet web site. Future effective general prevailing wage rates, which have been predetermined and are on file with the California Department of Industrial Relations are referenced but not printed in the general prevailing wage rates. The Contractor may elect to provide for the substitution of securities for any moneys which would otherwise be withheld by the City to ensure performance under the contract or may request the City to make payment of retentions earned directly to an escrow agent subject to the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contracts Code. Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1771.1, a contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on, be listed in the bid Proposal Forms, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of the contract for this project unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. It is not a violation of Section 1771.1 nor of this Notice to Bidders for an unregistered contractor to submit a bid for this project that is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Professions Code or by Section 10164 or 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code, provided the contractor is registered to perform the work pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5 at the time the contract is awarded. A bid shall not be accepted nor any contract or subcontract entered into without proof of the contractor or subcontractor's current registration to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The Contractor shall be required to provide a payment bond for this project. [Cal. Civ. Code section 9550(b)] Bidders must hold a Class A Contractor's license under the laws of the State of California. Bidder's security will be required as provided in the Contract Documents. No Bidder may withdraw his bid after the time fixed for the opening thereof. The successful Bidder and all subcontractors will be required to secure a City of Sonoma business license before commencing work on this project. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any defects or irregularity in the bidding. FAX and other electronically transmitted bids will not be accepted. The work to be done includes the furnishing of all plant, labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation and incidentals, including all specials and appurtenances, necessary to complete all the Work provided for in the Figures (1 through 5) as contained herein, Specifications and Contract Documents for 2024 CITYWIDE SLURRY SEAL PROJECT NO. 2401.
