The purpose of this contract is to provide the performance of Forest Service Road structure maintenance for the BCTS Okanagan-Columbia business area. The Vernon North and South Zone engineering programs maintain, build, and deactivate a wide variety of Forest Service Roads to facilitate BCTS Okanagan-Columbia works and projects. The proposed contract will facilitate the maintenance and upgrade of existing bridge structures throughout the Okanagan-Shuswap area to restore industrial access to future development areas. Contract deliverables will be planned for completion throughout the fiscal year to meet the business area quarterly targets. Projects will be completed concurrently as per the approved work progress plan and schedules. A Bid Security is required for this contract, supplied at the time of tender, and to the standards outlined The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022.
