The proposed contract requires a hydrological review of BCTS roads (status and non-status) within the Okanagan-Columbia Business Area and the development of a priority list for road deactivations within a given Operating Area or watershed. A qualified hydrologist will be required to sign off on the work outlined in the contract. The work in the contract includes but is not limited to: a priority list for road deactivations from a hydrological perspective, a summary of the risk and recommendations of treatments to address the risk. Contract deliverables will be planned for completion throughout the fiscal year. Projects will be completed concurrently as per the approved work progress plan and schedules. First fiscal contract deliverables are already predetermined, and the remaining fiscal years will be determined in a later date. The first fiscal year will focus on North Zone's Hunter Blurton Operating Area and half of South Zone's Mission Operating Area. The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022.
