Demolition and renovation of a mixed-use development in Independence, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 4,275-square-foot, two-story above grade multi-residential development; and 4,401-square-foot, one-story above grade retail development.

Renovations to a two-story mixed use building for both commercial and residential units. Commercial units are located at 106, 108, 110 N. 8th Street and the residential units are located at 106 1/2 N. 8th Street, Units A, B, C, D and E. Bids are due for the following bid packages: - BP #1 CDBG Demolition - BP #2 CDBG Carpentry - BP #3 CDBG Concrete - BP #4 CDBG Masonry Restoration - BP #5 CDBG Structural Steel - BP #6 CDBG Roofing *Bidders' attention is called to all applicable requirements that must be complied with, such as Section 3 of the 1968 Housing Act, Section 109 of the 1984 Housing and Community Development Act, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Executive Order 11246. All requirements of the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act, 41 USC 8301 note, and all applicable rules and notices, as may be amended, shall be complied with if applicable to the infrastructure project. Pursuant to HUD's Notice, "Public Interest Phased Implementation Waiver for FY 2022 and 2023 of Build America, Buy America Provisions as Applied to Recipients of HUD Federal Financial Assistance" (88 FR 17001), any funds obligated by HUD on or after the applicable listed effective dates, are subject to BABA requirements, unless excepted by a waiver.* This Scope of Work specifically includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Supply Structural Steel Materials, Labor, and equipment. 2. Shop drawings 3. Lay out and material unloading. 4. Suppply and install all fasteners, bracing and welded connections. 5. Supply and install stairs, railings, and roof access ladder. 6. supply anchor bolts (installed by others) 7. Remove all dunnage, shipping bracing, electrode stubs etc. from job site. 8. Miscellaneous Requirements (Unless agreed to differently in the Owner/Contractor Agreement, or the Contract Documents.) a. Retainage will be 10%. b. Vendor and Sub contractor shall utilize DHS E-Verify system to confirm employee eligibility. c. All subcontractors will be required to verify that their onsite personnel do not have a felony conviction and provide such proof to the CM upon request.
