Site work, new construction, remodeling and renovation of a mixed-use development in Independence, Kansas. Completed plans call for the construction of a 8,952-square-foot fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; for the renovation of a 20,397-square-foot municipal facility; and for the remodel of a municipal facility.

City of Independence is pleased to issue this Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") and Request for Proposal ("RFP") for Construction Management at Risk Services ("Services"). The City requests a qualifications proposal for the services of a Construction Manager at Risk ("CM") to assist the City during the design and execution of the renovation, remodel of the City Hall and new construction of the Fire-EMS Station located in Independence, Kansas. The City Hall renovation will contain the City Administration offices, City Clerks Offices, Independence Police Department and 911 center (within a hardened shell), Code Enforcement offices, municipal court, and the Independence Housing Authority. The renovation of City Hall is approximately 20,397 square feet (including a new Sallyport addition to the Southeast corner of the building). During the Design Development stage, a determination will need to be made whether to renovate the existing non-historic addition on the east or replace it with new construction. The new Fire-EMS living quarters will be new construction connecting the living quarters to an existing apparatus bay located at 900 West Myrtle Street. The new construction of the Fire-EMS living quarters is approximately 8,952 square feet. An add alternate to include the construction of one additional 2,070 square feet apparatus bay on to the West of the existing facility is a part of the project.
