The successful Bidder will be required to post a 100% Payment and Performance Bond. * The Town of Westerly/Westerly Schools reserves the right to reject any/all bids, waive any informalities in the bids received and to accept and award the bid to the lowest qualified bid deemed most favorable to the interest of the Town/School. The Town of Westerly Water Department is seeking bids for a boiler replacement located at 68 White Rock Road, Westerly, RI 02891. Scope of Work: 1. The awarded contractor shall provide a turnkey installation. 2. Demolish existing boiler, condensate receiver tank, oil tanks, controls, flue, and any other piping / miscellaneous components that are required. Any other material required to be demolished and not mentioned above will need to be included as part of the awarded contractor's scope of work. 3. Furnish and install (1) one new atmospheric cast iron sectional steam boiler with a natural gas burner. Provide new outdoor air sensor to enable the steam boiler during the heating season. Install new low water cut off and low water cut off with manual reset are required. 4. Furnish and install (1) on new single pump condensate receiver tank. All required piping, valves and controls are to be furnished and installed. 5. Furnish and install (2) two flanged OS&Y steam supply gate valves. Additional steam specialties will be required to also be furnished and installed. 6. Furnish and install (1) one new 4" thick concrete poured housekeeping pad. The concrete pad should extend a minimum of 4" around the new boiler. 7. Furnish and install (1) motorized damper for combustion air. Motorized damper shall be interlocked to open during a call for heat and shall close during the off cycle. 8. Furnish and install the appropriate size chimney linear with necessary single wall flue pipe and sheet metal ductwork. 9. Furnish and install new natural gas piping to supply the new boiler. Gas pipe sizing is the responsibility of the awarded contractor. Coordination with RI Energy will be the responsibility of the awarded contractor. 10. All line voltage wiring shall be included. All low voltage wiring shall be included. 11. Steam piping shall be schedule 40 welded and or threaded. Steam condensate shall be schedule 80 threaded. Natural gas piping shall be schedule 40 mega press and or threaded. 12. All new mechanical pipe insulation located within the boiler room. 13. Proper start up procedure included but not limited to boiler skimming. 14. This project shall include prevailing wage rates and is tax exempt. 15. Filing for a boiler permit is required. Filing for a local mechanical permit is required. Local permit fees shall be waived, only ADA fees will be applied.
