This is a Design-Build (DB) construction project to complete design services as well as, all required labor, materials, equipment and testing to modify and/or replace the existing electrical services in Building 26, and Building 27 located in Naval Support Activity, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. All work shall be in accordance with latest edition of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), and all applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC). The electrical service equipment and distribution switchgear and panelboards in the existing substations in Buildings 26 and 27 are past their useful life. Preventive maintenance and routine testing have been impossible for some of the equipment or have not been conducted due to the conditions may prevent normal power restoration. In addition to imminent equipment failure, the majority of the existing conditions and setup are unsafe and do not meet current codes. The intent of this project is to replace and upgrade the deteriorating equipment and existing electrical setup to meet current code standards, increase safety and to provide electrical services that are sustainable and reliable. This procurement has one (1) option bid item. The first option bid item is CLIN 0002 for Price for the entire work for demolition and replacement of electrical distribution systems in Building 26 and also price for entire Design of the Building 1 Switch Room #1, in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
