UPDATE : Powell Street Sewer Project is in City of Emeryville capital budget fy 2025-26 and 2026-2027 CIP _________________________________________________________________________________ The Powell Street Sewer Main's gravity sewer mains West of Interstate 80 require frequent maintenance due to high levels of fat, oil, and grease buildup. The sewer mains also suffer from progressive deterioration in the form of sagging, which lessens the effectiveness of the regular maintenance. This project will fund a replacement of the lines to mitigate the frequent maintenance schedule, move the maintenance access holes out of private property ,and potentially upsize the lines as necessary to accommodate the capacity of the sewer to serve future residential developments. The project is included in the City of Emeryville's FY 202-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of June 20, 2024, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available.
