Amtrak is accepting Letters of Interest for the Construction to replace a damaged Autotransformer (AT2) at the Amtrak Norton switching station. Responses are to include qualification information requested/stated below. Amtrak, at its sole discretion and without discussion, will determine which Contractors are to be added to its short list for the forthcoming Request for Proposal. This project involves replacing a damaged Autotransformer (AT2) at the Amtrak Norton switching station. The existing autotransformer is rated 1 Phase, 10MVA, 55KV/27.5KV, 60Hz. The supplies to be furnished under this contract are manufacture, delivery, and site services for one (1) Autotransformer. The selected construction firm shall design, manufacture, and deliver the transformer per Amtrak Autotransformer specification. This work includes: This Scope of Services is intended for a construction firm to provide Amtrak with site services for a complete replacement of one (1) 10MVA Autotransformer. The contractor's scope shall include but is not limited to the following: 1) Removal and disposal of existing Autotransformer (AT1), to include draining and environmentally compliant disposal of approximately 1100 gallons of transformer oil. 2) Installation and assembly of replacement Autotransformer (AT1) 3) Oil filling (if applicable) and topping-off of oil level prior to commissioning. 4) On-site acceptance testing and commissioning of replacement transformer in accordance with manufacturer's recommended test procedure. 5) Fabrication and installation of replacement conductor pipes. (Replacement transformer bushing heights and locations differ from original 5) All transformer bus and grounding terminations 6) Removal of existing AT1 control cables 7) Installation of new AT1 control cables 8) Crane(s), rigging, track bridges and all other specialized equipment required for removal and installation In an effort to provide "maximum practicable opportunity" to participate in the provision of goods and services to Amtrak, prime firms under agreement with Amtrak are required to put forth Good Faith Efforts to contract with Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs). Therefore, a DBE subcontracting plan goal shall be established for this opportunity. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
