Middlefield Town Hall - Floor Tile Installation. Installation of 18' x 18' Luxury Vinyl Floor Tile, cove base, and moisture barrier at Middlefield Town Hall. The Town is requesting bids for the Installation of Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring 18 x 18 including floor leveling if required, installation of floor water barrier and installation of Armstrong Luxury Vinyl floor tile or approved equal as noted in the project design at the Middlefield Town Hall. All work will coincide with the attached Division 1 specification, site map and schedule outlined in the specifications. It is essential to ensure that the work can occur in a timely manner. The timeline is very tight, and the work must occur as soon as possible. The site is used for Town offices, and it is desired to get town hall employees to utilize the building as soon as possible. Based on this tight timeline we are looking for an extremely aggressive response and professional installation of all flooring. The Plan is to perform the project in two phases so that all furnishings and equipment can remain in the building. It is expected that the move will be accomplished as follows. (Phase One) Phase One will include the removal of asbestos floor tile and related products from the Library, Office A, and Office B Rooms. The Moving contractor will move all books, furniture, computers, and other equipment from these spaces to the All Purpose Room. Some furniture being moved will be arranged in the All Purpose Room to allow office personnel to continue working as necessary during the project. A member of the Town staff will be on site to instruct moving staff on the layout of the furniture. The abatement contractor will then be called to abate the tile and related products from the vacated spaces. When the floors have been abated and hygienically tested to ensure they are clean the moisture testing contractor will perform his testing of the concrete slab. Once the testing results are known, the flooring contractor will prep the floors and install new floor tile. In general, the Contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, materials, temporary storage, facilities, tools, and other appliances necessary for the work in this section and as required to properly complete the project in accordance with these contract documents and good construction practice. All costs associated with the above-described work as well as work described under the Contract shall be borne by the Contractor. The Town of Middlefield shall not be responsible for any additional costs associated with this work. 3. The Town of Middlefield has retained an Air Quality Testing Consultant and a Moisture Testing Consultant for Project Design, Technical Advisement and Administration of the Contract.
