The Board of Education of Cicero School District 99 announces a request for proposal for environmental consulting services that will be available beginning Thursday, 6/20/2024, for a comprehensive environmental assessment of Daniel Burnham Elementary School Building and Site located at 1630 South 59th Avenue Cicero, IL 60804. Only environmental consultants capable of providing full service environmental consulting service are sought. o PROJECT SUMMARY The District is investigating the potential of building a new early childhood center to serve the north side of the school district. Currently, the preliminary concept would include the demolition of the existing Daniel Burnham Elementary School, a three-story masonry building, and the design and construction of a new, single-story early childhood center located at 1630 South 59th Avenue Cicero, IL 60804. The exact scope and program of the project has not yet been determined. The District is interested in obtaining the services of an environmental services consultant to provide a hazardous materials survey and ESA phase 1 for the existing building and site. The District intends to work with the awarded firm, as a consultant to complete necessary remediation, if any. The open RFP submission period will be from Thursday, 6/20/2024, to Thursday, 7/11/2024. At the conclusion of the RFP submission period, submittals will be opened and the District will review responses. Upon completion of the District's review, a shortlist of firm may be requested to participate in an interview process. Following qualification checks and any fee negotiation an award recommendation to the District Board of Education. The Board will make the final award decision. The District intends to initially award the hazardous materials survey and testing and ESA Phase 1 only. If a project is approved to proceed at the conclusion of the initial assignment the Board will consider retaining the selected firm for future phases through a continuing services agreement.
