Plans call to construct a new terminal located north of Terminal 6. A detailed scope has not been released. As of June 25, 2024, the Port Tampa Bay commissioners approved contract with an engineering firm and the project is currently in preliminary stage of planning. The next phase is design and permitting of filling the Metro Port Slip. The filling will take approximately two years. The construction document completion timeline has not been released. A tentative bid schedule for contractors has not been disclosed. Further details regarding firm construction and completion timelines have not been identified. Funding has not been allocated.
