Site work for a water / sewer project in Tampa, Florida. Design plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of September 23, 2025, an engineer has been selected, and this project is in the design phase. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Tampa Wastewater Department desires to obtain Professional Engineering services for work necessary to develop and design improvements to eliminate storm related wastewater overflows along Coachman Ave. near Bayshore Blvd. Background: During recent hurricanes and severe storm events, wastewater overflows have occurred along Coachman Ave. between Bayshore Blvd. and MacDill Ave. This section of road contains an 18- inch gravity sewer that is part of the Bayshore pumping station collection system. The rim elevations of the manholes along this section of roadway and the adjacent gravity sewer along Alline Ave. are considerably lower than the other manholes within the collection system. High flows during storm events frequently occur at the Bayshore pumping station due to collection system infiltration and inflow. In addition, several components at the Bayshore pumping station have reached the end of their useful life and the station has experienced failures. Due to these conditions, overflows along Coachman Ave. and Alline Ave. have occurred. A project to rehabilitate and restore the reliability of the Bayshore pumping station is underway; however, additional improvements to prevent overflows may be needed. The purpose of this project will be to determine and evaluate the need for additional improvements and to design and develop construction documents for the completion of recommended improvements Services will include, but not limited to, Develop and evaluate alternatives to prevent future overflows, which may include infiltration/inflow studies, flow monitoring, collection system hydraulic modeling, data collection, field survey, pipeline inspections, smoke testing, and other services. Consultant will present findings of alternative analysis and provide recommendations for improvements that should be implemented. Services will then include the development of contract documents for selected improvements, including signed and sealed construction plans, specifications, construction cost estimates, preparation and submittal of regulatory permits. Services during construction will be provided for shop drawing reviews, responding to Request for Information, and other services related to project construction. Questions may be directed to Jim Greiner, P.E., Contract Administration, City of Tampa, (813) 274-8598, or E-Mail jim.greiner@tampagov.net. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
