Douglas County Forestry Department in Douglas County, Wisconsin is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the Cranberry Bridge Replacement project. The Cranberry Bridge is located on a snowmobile trail crossing the Cranberry Creek in the Town of Wascott, Section 19, Town 43 N, Range 12W. The work under this project shall consist of the removal of existing timber bridge and debris, installation of piles, and installation of a new timber bridge. All other items and incidental work necessary to complete the project scope as shown on the plans and specifications are incidental to the project. The existing bridge is a 25' long by 14.5' wide timber bridge that crosses Cranberry Creek 1,600 feet upstream of Cranberry Lake. The proposed bridge is a 30-foot long, 12.5-foot wide, clear span timber bridge on a horizontal alignment that will not deviate from the existing trail. Helical piles will support the bridge. All equipment and materials to complete the project shall be delivered to the site via South Cranberry Lake Road. Upon completion, the project will allow public access across Cranberry Creek for snowmobile and pedestrian traffic. The contractor shall supply engineer-stamped structural plans for the bridge structure and helical piles that conform to the dimensions and elevations shown on the plans and specifications. The stamped structural plans shall include pile type and pile sizing calculations. Final completion by January 31, 2025. Bid security in the amount of 10 percent of the bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Douglas County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, and to accept bids most advantageous to Douglas County. Deadline for questions is Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
