The City is interested in contracting for professional janitorial cleaning of city buildings identified in the attached scope of work and located in 14 separate buildings/facilities all within city limits. The scope of work for this project is attached, as Attachments A & B, and shall be incorporated into this RFP by this reference. Service requirements and cleaning frequencies are outlined in Attachments A & B, Work Schedule and both attachments are made a part of this request by this reference. This work is subject to prevailing wage requirements. The City is proud of its environmental commitment and wishes to partner with a Contractor who shares this commitment through the services they offer. We are committed to using environmentally friendly cleaning products and plan to use these types of product lines more extensively in the future. The City reserves the right to add or delete facilities or performance requirements, and to add services similar to those contained herein during the life of the Contract. The City intends to enter into an initial two-year agreement, with two (2) optional two-year renewal term, for a potential maximum total term of four (6) years (see Attachment F, Option for Renewal), provided that 1) Contractor is in compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract and, 2) that the annual payment is cost-effective as determined by the City, and 3) that sufficient funds have been appropriated by the City. The City reserves the right to cancel this contract at any time, upon thirty (30) days written notice to Contractor. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any irregularities or information in the evaluation process. The final decision is at the City's sole discretion and respondents to this request have no appeal rights or procedures guaranteed to them. Prevailing Wage and Retainage :Any labor performed under this RFP falls within the definition of public work under Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 39.04, and wages must be paid prevailing wage rates. The rules and regulations of the Department of Labor and Industries and the schedule of prevailing wage rates for the greater Redmond area can be obtained from the State Department's website The awarded contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary licenses and permits Provide a statement to the effect that respondent understands and agrees to obtain a City of Redmond business license as a requirement for performing these services.
