Lead Service Line Replacement Program. Funding is available in Fiscal Year 2024 (May 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024) for approximately 30 property owner initiated lead service line replacements. By the year 2027, the City will need to replace about 120 lead services a year to keep pace with the IEPA requirement to have all lead services out of the system by the year 2044. A recurring request from residents is for the City to provide a recommended list of contractors for the resident to review. While the City cannot recommend contractors for private development, we can provide a list of contractors who perform this type of work and who understand the steps of the Program.
