Construction of CNU Ferguson Center Partial Re-Roof Project at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. The project is generally described as the removal and replacement of the coal tar pitch roofing and select EPDM roofing system with new modified bitumen roofing assembly and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. The roofing system shall obtain a 20-year no-dollar limit warranty. The primary and overflow roof drainage systemsshall be upgraded to comply with 2018 VCC. Abandoned rooftop equipment and penetrations shall be removed and the openings shall be infilled. The existing window washing anchor points, where occur, shall be removed. One mechanical rooftop unit and one unit on a concrete pad shall be removed and replaced as part of additive bids. See Bid Form for all additive bids. Perimeter fall protection shall be installed where equipment is located within 10-feet of a roof edge. Hazardous material shall be abated as identified in the specifications. Contractor shall coordinate the interface with the recently completed roof replacement as required to maintain existing roof warranties. These areas are identified in the drawings.
