Description: The City of Ankeny is seeking proposals for removal of the entry feature at Ankeny City Hall. The City of Ankeny seeks one contractor to demolish the existing entry feature at the City Hall facility located at 410 West First Street, Ankeny, Iowa 50023. Where this work is to be performed currently serves as the "main entrance" for City Hall, but this building will be closed to the public during construction and until such time that repairs are satisfactorily completed. Staff will utilize a secondary building entrance while the contractor is performing work. The exact specifications for work to be performed are included in the project plan set and should be referenced for bid preparation purposes. In general, work includes removal of the existing steel canopy structure; removal of the existing CMU block connected to the canopy and excavating as necessary for cut off work; removal of certain portions of sidewalk in the area; preserve, repair, and match building materials where removal has occurred at the building structure; repour certain portions of sidewalk for proper drainage; fill and match adjacent landscape; and cap all electrical. Based on the criteria used to evaluate the bids, the intent of this bid process will be to award to the best value low bid (not necessarily the lowest bid). The City reserves the right to conduct an interview as part of the selection process, or reject any or all bids received. After an award is made, and upon completion of City Council approval on Monday, July 15, 2024, a bid tabulation summary will be sent to all companies who submitted a bid. Bid results will not be given over the phone or before award has been made. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the bid opening date.
