The work of this contract generally consists of furnishing and installing approximately 3,000 linear feet of new 8-inch PVC water main with associated valves, fittings, hydrants, services, appurtenances, and surface restoration. The new 8-inch PVC water main will be installed along Fenno Drive from Central Street to Mansion Drive. Approximately 1,400 linear feet of existing 8-inch AC water main in Fenno Drive will be abandoned in place. The work also includes furnishing and installing approximately 350 linear feet of 10-inch HDPE water main below Ox Pasture Brook by horizontal directional drilling through the existing bedrock off the edge of Fenno Drive. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount. A Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required. Minimum wage rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Labor and Industries under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project.
