The City is seeking a qualified Contractor to provide all labour, materials and equipment necessary to install a pre-purchased culvert and all related work as per drawings and specifications herein. The City has obtained an LTCA permit for the work to install the proposed Culvert which will expire on Aug 17, 2024. The Culvert must be installed and functioning by Aug 17, 2024. No extensions for in water/ culvert installation work will be granted. The City has pre-ordered the specified culvert. The Culvert will be delivered to the Contractor on site by July 29. The Contractor will not need to carry the supply of the Culvert within the bid prices. The City will permit County Road 40 to be completely closed to traffic from Monday at noon to Thursday at noon (3 days) to permit the installation of the Culvert. With the entire road closure (all traffic being detoured), the traffic control shown in the tender drawings may be altered by the Contractor. One-way traffic must be maintained outside of the complete road closure through signalized lighting system. The Contractor may submit an alternative plan to mitigate any stormwater flow and sediment erosion control from the drainage crossing/ existing culvert. Any alternative plan must be cost neutral to the project. Restoration work, and full return to uninterrupted two way traffic may be completed after Aug 17, 2024 but all water course and culvert installation work must be completed prior to August 17.
