Site work, paving and new construction of a water / sewer project in Qikiqtarjuaq, Nunavut. Working plans call for the construction of a 161,460-square-foot, one-story above grade water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Qikiqtarjuaq deepsea port construction. The plan includes a 75-metre wharf, a crane for offloading cargo, security and operations offices and a 275-metre-long access road. The area, located about one kilometer south of the airport along the western shoreline of Broughton Island. TIMELINE: CBCL aims to finalize the construction documents by late 2025. Port construction is expected to begin in summer 2026 and finish by 2029, with operations starting in 2030. Tender timeline may be confirmed in early, 2026. *The project is being developed as an Inuit-led joint venture between the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) and Qikiqtaaluk Corporation (QC), in partnership with the Arctic Economic Development Corporation (AEDC).
