The work of providing labor, equipment, and material for the of the Proposed Marion Water System Critical Needs Infrastructure Improvements Project - Contract A2" Marion Valve and Hydrant Replacement Project - DWSRF PROJECT NO. FS010248-01. The principal items of work are detailed herein below: 1. Remove and Replace Isolation Valves 2. Remove and Replace Hydrants No refunds will be made except to Prime Contractor Bidders, which shall be refunded for one bid set. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond for one hundred (100%) of the bid amount and a Payment Bond for one hundred (100%) percent of the bid amount and must secure his bond from a bonding company's representative or agent in the State of Alabama. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered The Work will be substantially completed within 50 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run as provided in Paragraph 2.03 of the General Conditions, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 14.07 of the General Conditions 60 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening bids has passed. The Owner reserves the right to hold the bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of receiving the Bids. The Contractor is hereby advised that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE on this project and that the contract time of 60 consecutive calendar days total and noted restrictions shall be strictly observed. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES WILL BE ASSESSED IF CONTRACT TIME IS EXCEEDED. The Contractor may apply for an extension of time in accordance with the provisions of the contract; however, such an extension must be approved prior to the contract completion date to avoid the imposition of liquidated damages. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to accept any bid considered advantageous to the Owner. There will be no Pre-Bid Conference for the project
