Work of this Contract comprises of the remediation of an approximate 100 m long roadway embankment consisting of realigning and constructing a new roadway embankment with 2.5H:1V side slopes and armouring approximately 60 m of the eastern side slope with 0.6 m thick rockfill riprap material. The work also includes clearing and grubbing along the east side slope of the roadway embankment and beneath the proposed realigned roadway, excavation along the eastern side slope prior to rockfill riprap placement, placement and compaction of bulk fill and traffic gravel materials, and placement of topsoil and seed along the western side slope of the new roadway embankment. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond and an Agreement to Bond, issued by a Surety Company licensed to conduct business in Canada, and acceptable to the Owner. The Bid Bond shall be in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of total bid price. The Bid Bond shall be valid for a period of not less than sixty (60) days from the date of tender A performance bond of a company registered to conduct the business of a surety in Manitoba, in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the Contract Price. A labour and materials bond of a company registered to conduct the business of a surety in Manitoba, in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the Contract Price.
