Renovation of a mixed-use development in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 15,483-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility.

The St. Colman school building, located in downtown Turtle Creek at 547 Hunter Avenue is just off the Tri-Boro Expressway. The original 3-story masonry building with a partial basement was built in 1929. A 2-story addition was added in 1950 for additional classrooms and a cafeteria that formed the Junior High portion of the school. The class of 2006 was the last class to graduate, and the building has been unoccupied since then. The primary objective of this project is the adaptive reuse of the Historic St Colman's School into eighteen (18) 2-bedroom, and eight (8) 1-bedroom single-parent family apartments. Both the original 3-story masonry structure and the 2-story masonry addition are intended to be completely renovated as part of this project. The project will be bid with all trades being administered under one General Contract for construction. The project will be constructed as a Historic Restoration and all work is required to meet the intent of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitating Historic Structures as codified in 36 CFR 67. General Contractors should demonstrate any relevant Historic Preservation project experience or significant renovation project experience. Adaptive renovation of the St. Colman school into 26 apartments; Scope of Work includes historical preservation/restoration components. Bids will be received for all trades under one contract for General Construction. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or bank cashier's check, payable to the Allegheny County Housing Authority in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount.
