Renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in West Kelowna, British Columbia. Design plans call for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility.
BKN is a medium-sized (104 bed, 5,344m2) extended care facility with onsite kitchen and laundry facilities. Commissioned in 1995, most of the facility retains its original HVAC and controls infrastructure, which are now at the end of their service life and require replacement. The project will deliver efficiency upgrades to the boiler room by replacing two main boilers with condensing boilers and installing a heat recovery chiller. Additionally, the building automation systems and a kitchen make-up air unit will be replaced. TIMELINE: Request for proposal for mechanical engineering services for theproject has closed and a preferred proponent has been cosen. Tender schedule may be confirmed in early spring 2025. *The Construction Budget is estimated at $3,000,000.00 (Order of Magnitude).
