The City of Powell River invites tenders for construction on Duncan Street between Joyce Avenue and Manson Avenue; Lois Street between Sutherland Avenue and King Avenue; Sycamore Street between Ash Avenue and Aspen Avenue; Selkirk Avenue from Royston Street north to Cul-de-Sac; Selkirk Avenue from Toba Street to 110m north of Toba Street; various asphalt patches due to water main break damage. This generally consists of: Roads: 11,789 m2 of 85mm asphalt paving (Duncan Street – 4 Separate Sections) 3,810 m2 of 85mm asphalt paving (Lois Street) 1,660 m2 of 85mm asphalt paving (Sycamore Street) 842 m2 of 40mm top lift asphalt paving (Selkirk Avenue) 1,152 m2 of 50mm asphalt paving (Selkirk Avenue) Various asphalt patches due to water main break damage Plus miscellaneous work including asphalt curb installation and boulevard restoration Note: Underground infrastructure installations by City forces on Duncan Street 100m west of Fernwood Avenue, being installed during the month of July to be completed prior to the paving of this section (drawing Duncan – Ontario to Fernwood – R-2-10 (3)). The contractors’ paving schedule must accommodate this installation. The work associated with the End Product Specification relates to in-situ density of hotmix asphalt concrete paving which consists of the following: Submission of a mix design and proven job mix formula by the Contractor for the asphalt concrete to be placed prior to project commencement. Conducting Quality Control testing (QC) for the purposes of maintaining mix properties by the Contractor as per the contract specifications. These QC test results are to be reported to the City of Powell River (Powell River) representative in a timely fashion.
